In The Popular 2004 Novel entitled: " The Taking " - written by: Dean Ray Koontz [ that means: " The Head Educator In Your Valley Is: That Shining Beam Of Light And My Own Bold Councillor " ] - we have been provided Yet Another Important & Spiritual Allegory.

You see, dear brothers and sisters, ' There Can Be A Very Large Difference Between The True Reality And Our Own Erroneous Perceptions '... and, as this story really does demonstrate: " The Devil Is Quite Often Found Right There In All Of Those Details "!

Bantam - " My Own Little One Who Fights Like The Devil ".

But, of course, you probably still don't believe me. And, while I would most certainly love to provide you a link to The Book Trailer, like most of the books that were being published prior to 2010; sadly, There Still Isn't One Of Them To Show You.

{ ***NOTE: Perhaps, one of you readers would ( actually ) step up to the challenge? Because, even a fan made trailer is quite often better than nothing.... }

The Taking: Was Provided To Remind All Of Us Who And/Or What Is Actually Important....

You see, in The End Time Prophecy of Malachi Chapter 4, we can read all of the following:

" For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And, the day which is coming, shall burn them up, says The Lord Of Hosts: ' It Shall Leave Them Neither Root Nor Branch.

But, to you who fear My name, The Sun Of Righteousness Shall Arise With Healing In His Wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet upon the day that I do this, ' says The Lord Of Hosts.

Remember The Law Of Moses, My servant, which I commanded him in Horeb For All Of Israel [ to, quite honestly, obey them ] - with: The Statutes and Judgments.

Behold, I will send you Elijah The Prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And, He Will Turn The Hearts Of The Fathers To The Children; And The Hearts Of The Children To Their Fathers; Lest I Come And Strike The Earth With A Curse." - Malachi 4.

You see: " God Is First And Foremost A Father "!

You see, folks, during The Apocalypse: ' Those Individuals That Are Shepherding All Of Those Precious Little Children Are Going To Be Safely Protected '... while, Those Who Seek Only To Save Their Own Lives ( Quite Truthfully ) Aren't Going To Be!

And, as usual, That Choice Has Always Been Yours....



So, What About The Rest Of The Symbolism In This Highly Entertaining Vision?

First, let's just consider That Incredibly Powerful And Worldwide Storm.

In fact, according to Mathew Chapter 7, it actually represents Our Own Upcoming And Worldwide Events.

" Everyone then Who Hears These Words Of Mine, and Does Them, will be like A Wise Man Who Built His House Upon The Rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house; but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.

And everyone Who Hears These Words Of Mine, and Does Not Do Them, will be like A Foolish Man Who Built His House Upon The Sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it. " - Mathew 7:24-27.

It goes: " In One Ear And Right Out The Other ".

You see, dear brothers and sisters: ' That Storm Is Now Coming For All Of Us '... and, the only real difference between any of us is whether ( or not ) We Are Honestly Doing All Of Those Things - that we've already been told to do!

Meanwhile, The Coyotes [ that are by definition: " Fiercely Independent, Wild, And Feral Canines - That Are Strictly Native To The Americas " ] - which had oddly banded together Out Of Their Need For Common Protection - were gathered upon the front porch of Molly Sloan [ which means: " The Bitter One Who Shall Fight Until The End " ]; because they, themselves, sensed a much stronger and far more benevolent authority.

But, as That Evil Entity drew nearer ( however ): ' Even Their Own Personal Confidence In Molly Was Shattered And They Were Ultimately Driven Away Into The Darkness '... just, as it has been so carefully recorded:

" They Will Pass Through It Hard-Pressed And Hungry; and it shall happen, when they are hungry, that they will be enraged and curse ( both ): Their King and Their God - and, look upward. 

Then, they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and They Will Be Driven Into The Darkness. " - Isaiah 8:21-22.

Who really is ( that ): " Heir Of The Dog "?

However, with that more domesticated variety of canines known simply as The Dog [ that is by definition: " The Humble, Obedient, Loyal And Domesticated Canine - Which Is ( Both ): A Companion To Man And Which Serves As A Reflection Of God " ] - their own faith in Molly was ( actually ) a sight that the whole town of Black Lake could clearly behold!

And, even more importantly, ' The Dog Understood The True Mission That Molly Was Commissioned With So Faithfully Accomplishing '... and, consequently in the end, Molly Too [ though she has already proven incapable of bearing children on her own ] Could Faithfully Proclaim:

" Bind up The Testimony, and seal The Law among all of my disciples. And, I will wait upon the Lord; who hides His face from the house of Jacob; and I will hope in Him.

Here Am I and The Children Whom The Lord Has Given Me! 

We are for: Signs and Wonders - in Israel - from The Lord Of Hosts, who dwells in Mount Zion. " - Isaiah 8:16-18.

Those: " Three Not So Strong Foundations ".

Meanwhile, when the government itself had failed to protect them, The Vast Majority Of Those Villagers In Black Lake were of three differing opinions when it came to choosing What To Put Their Own Trust In... rather than, just ( obediently ): " Going Out Into The Fields And Faithfully Gathering The Lord's Own Spiritual Harvest " - as, they had so long ago been commanded to do!

There were The Bankers, because:

" The Rich Man’s Wealth Is His Own Strong City; and like a high wall in his own personal esteem. " - Proverbs 18:11.

There were The Parishioners, since:

" The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; But According To Their Own Desires, And Because They Have Itching Ears, They Will Heap Up Teachers For Themselves, and they will turn their ears away from The Truth, and be turned aside unto fables. " - 2nd Timothy 4:3-4.

And, indeed, there were also The Publicans, since it has always been ( equally ) written:

" Give Strong Drink To Him Who Is Perishing; and wine to those who are bitter of heart. Let him drink and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more. " - Proverbs 31:6-7.

Meanwhile, Those Who Survived just humbly followed A Lone Stray Dog named Virgil [ which means: " The One Who Eventually Shall Flourish Is He Who Speaks Out Clearly And Boldly From The Heart " ] - or, even, One Of Those Millions Of Others Who Then Stood Up, As Needed, Just Like Him.

Now, Go Figure That One Out....
